Remember after Missouri Right to Life endorsed Billy Long, Congressman Long's campaign viciously attacked Gary Nodler and Jack Goodman, his Republican opponents in the primary two years ago.
It reads Missouri Right to Life calls Goodman and Nodler's voting records "less than we desired". Well I wonder what they think of Long's latest round of voting on pro-life causes?
Well Billy Long is proving once again he isn't very fed up, isn't very pro-life, and loves Obamacare. Yesterday, Congressman Long voted to spend another $1.047 trillion dollars in the next five months. Get this, the spending will fund Planned Parenthood and further advance Obamacare.
CNS News writes of House Roll No. 579 and the passage of House Joint Resolution 117 that continues to fund the government for the next five months:
The Republican-majority House of Representatives on Thursday passed a $1.047 trillion bill funding the federal government through March 2013 that will permit funding for Planned Parenthood and ObamaCare--including the regulation that took effect on Aug. 1 that will require virtually all health plans in the United States to cover, without fees or co-pay, sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that induce abortions.
The vote was 329-91, and the bill now goes to the Senate for expected approval next week.
The bill funds the government for six months into the new fiscal year and for almost five months after the November elections. Congress turned to the stop-gap measure after failing to pass any of the 12 appropriation bills necessary to fund day-to-day government operations.
Billy Long wasn't one of the 91 no votes.

Missouri Right to Life needs to renounce their support of Congressman Billy Long.

Billy Long's Religious Freedom Rant is a Joke: Billy Not Supporting Freedom in Washington
![]() |
| Congressman Billy Long |
Billy Long has been made the laughing stock on Rick, I mean Rachel Maddow's show. Long, who has voted for bills that infringe upon personal freedoms like the Patriot Act and the indefinite detainment, recently championed liberty and freedom by attacking a contraceptive mandate in Obamacare. While I am no fan of Obamacare, you can see why this is laughable. Here's our Bozo of a Congressman claiming we are no longer free in this country after voting against your rights using birth control as the example noting religious freedom is under attack.
The following soundbite continues to show up on Rick's, I mean Rachel's show:
You don't have to worry about the brave. We're still home of the brave, but we're not the land of the free anymore. And we need to get that straight.
When you're not free to practice religious freedom in this country, what in the world have we come to? Seriously, goodness gracious. The land of the free, the home of the brave. We're no longer free in this country. -- Congressman Billy "Bozo" Long
Let's review one more time. Long voted for the Patriot Act which kills the Fourth Amendment. Long voted to give Obama the power to indefinitely detain Americans without due process. Long even voted to put restrictions on free speech on federal property. Yet, Billy Long is upset that there are forced contraceptive mandates that are robbing Americans of their freedoms. See the problem.
Trust me, I don't want my money taken from me in the form of taxes to pay for someone else's birth control. I believe in self-responsibility, but I am sickened that Billy Long continues to vote against the Constitution and then wants to claim he is a champion of freedom by standing up against the contraceptive mandate.
Here's the Billy Long record:
Voted to raise the debt ceiling, clearing the way for more spending and less freedom because you will be called upon through more and higher taxes to repay this.
Billy Long voted for SOPA and PIPA giving the government internet censorship rights.
Billy Long voted for CISPA allowing the government to monitor your internet usage.
Billy Long voted for the use of 30,000 drones over AMERICAN soil, spying on citizens.
Billy Long voted for the NDAA and its provisions allowing the indefinite detainment of citizens without trial or counsel.
Billy Long voted for HR347 banning protest near government officials.
Billy Long co sponsored HR617, which sold off HAM radio frequencies, HAM radio being a symbol of free radio.
Billy Long voted to to enslave you $30 million a year of taxpayer money to sponsor NASCAR
Here's what I can't figure out about all this. As Long steps on the Capital steps claiming birth control mandates are the ultimate symbol of Americans losing their freedom, I recall he was one of the first Congressman to endorse Mitt Romney for President and was even reported as texting other Congressmen at all hours of the night to jump on board the Romney Express. Why is this important?
Well when we look at Romneycare, there are forced contraceptive mandates in Romney's healthcare vision for Massachusetts that would eventually inspire Obamacare. Remember, Romneycare took shape from the Heritage Foundation and Republican's 1994 alternative to Hillarycare.
Newsmax reports of how Romney forced Catholic Hospitals of Massachusetts to administer abortion pills against their own religious beliefs. Now remember, Congressman Long's beef on the steps of the Capital is based on religious beliefs.
Mitt Romney is vociferously attacking a provision in Obamacare requiring religious employers to cover birth control in employee health plans — but the healthcare bill he enacted as governor of Massachusetts also contained that requirement.
C.J. Doyle, executive director of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, told the Boston Globe that Romney’s criticism of President Obama is hypocritical because as governor he did not lift the state-level requirement of contraception coverage.
“The initial injury to Catholic religious freedom came not from the Obama administration, but from the Romney administration,” Doyle said.
“President Obama’s plan certainly constitutes an assault on the constitutional rights of Catholics, but I’m not sure Gov. Romney is in a position to assert that, given his own very mixed record on this.”
Now Congressman Long, if you are so worried about religious freedom in the United States, why do you so carelessly put your seal of approval on Mitt Romney who showed little regard to the Catholic Church in Massachusetts on the subject of birth control?
You Congressman Long are a hypocrite always looking for the camera to deliver a soundbite knowing the people of Southwest Missouri are like dogs who will roll over for a treat.

Who Buys Office Supplies at Bass Pro?: Billy Long Goes Fishing
Congressman Billy Long's campaign finance reports are a mess. Numerous warnings from the Federal Election Commission, the acceptance of over payments that go beyond the federal limits on what one individual can contribute to his campaign, trips to Las Vegas funded by campaign contributions, and this--OFFICE SUPPLIES FROM BASS PRO SHOP'S OUTDOOR WORLD.
Long's campaign reports show he spent $422.70 at Bass Pro Shops on office supplies.
Who buys office supplies from Bass Pro? It appears Congressman Billy Long buys office supplies from Bass Pro according to his campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission. Knowing Billy, his office is probably decorated with Billy Bass.
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6WC6EbRQmJ0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
However, the amount spent at Bass Pro Shops either means Long has Billy Bass on every wall of his office or he is increasing the size of his tackle box using campaign contributions. In case you haven't been paying attention, Long's opponent, Tom Stilson, who by the way still lives with his mom and dad, attacked Congressman Long claiming Billy was having serious financial problems. As well, word around Southwest Missouri is Billy Long's Highland Springs home was facing foreclosure and Long borrowed a hundred of thousands of dollars from his dad to get out of trouble.
Based on this, it is very possible Long is dipping into his campaign funds to pay for his fishing supplies and his trips to Las Vegas based on these curious entries that are listed in the required July 2012 FEC report and reports Long and Stilson's attack that Long is having a personal financial crisis.

Ethics Problem Brewing for Billy Long on Eve of Republican Primary: Las Vegas on Campaign Contributions
On the eve of the Republican primary for Missouri 7, it appears Billy Long may be heading for some trouble with the Federal Election Commission. The Turner Report sifted through Congressman Billy Long's campaign reports and discovered Billy Long was taking money from his campaign accounts to pay for trips to Las Vegas. Congressman Long is well known for his high-stakes poker games including playing in the World Poker Tour.
Randy Turner writes:
A disclosure report filed Friday with the Federal Election Commission shows yet another Las Vegas trip for Seventh District Congressman Billy Long.
The trip is at least the fifth one this year, and of those five trips, money for four came from his campaign bank account.
The latest disclosure report, covering the time period since July 1, shows Long reporting $936.32 for a stay at the Venetian Hotel. The date listed on the item is July 5. Apparently, earlier that day Long spent $609.29 for a meal at Tortilla Coast in Washington. D. C., a place where one reviewer wrote, "The food is great; the drinks are perfectly strong, but not too strong."
It is not clear what campaign event Long was attending in Las Vegas, but if he stayed at the Venetian Hotel on July 5 as the disclosure report indicates, he certainly picked a busy day at the hotel. On that same day, according to the hotel website, things were hopping at the Venetian Poker Room, especially in the "high-stakes area, featuring seven high-limit tables, two relaxation areas, butler service, and gourmet dining."
And as part of the poker room's "Deep Stack Extravaganza," a tournament was being held July 5, No Limit Hold 'Em with a $2,375 buy-in, a $125 entry fee, and a prize pot of $382,200.
Long is no stranger to Hold 'Em poker tournaments and has spent large amounts of money on entry fees in the past in World Poker Tour participation, which there is nothing illegal about.
However, prior trips to World Poker Tour events to our best knowledge weren't paid for by campaign contributions. Long lists four trips to Las Vegas and as Turner points out, there was some serious poker tournaments going on at that same time and same hotel Long stayed at. Here's the pickle Congressman Long may find himself in. Earlier this year, Congressman Aaron Schock who serves the district that includes Peoria , Illinois, was forced to pay back campaign contributions when he used donations to pay for a personal vacation to Greece.
According to The Chicago Tribune, if Billy Long used campaign contributions to fund personal trips to Las Vegas, which seems very likely based on information in the campaign finance reports that show little evidence to support any official function in Las Vegas, Congressman Long may have violated Federal Election Commission Laws based on the Schock case.
The Trib writes:
Rep. Aaron Schock of Peoria billed his campaign for a $1,136 stay at a luxury hotel in Greece in 2009, but repaid the money after a watchdog group reported it, an aide said Thursday.
Schock, 30, a Republican in his second term in Congress, stayed at the Hotel Grande Bretagne during a trip to Athens on Oct. 1, 2009, according to Steven Shearer, his chief of staff. The hotel advertises "breathtaking" views of the Parthenon, and rooms starting at $284.
Congressman Long serves in a Bible Belt district that has been long opposed to casinos coming into his district, especially near Branson, Missouri.

Federal election rules don't allow the use of campaign funds for personal vacations. The bill for the Greek hotel was reported by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
"The hotel in Greece was a mistake," Shearer said Thursday.
Shearer said a credit card receipt had been "included with a stack of other legitimate campaign expenses. That receipt should not have been mixed in with his campaign receipts for that month."

Billy Long Going to Vegas on OPM (Campaign Contributions)
Two years ago when campaigning for Congress, Billy Long told residents of Southwest Missouri politicians in Washington, DC are addicted to "OPM". Those is the crowd would scratch their heads wondering what the auctioneer was talking about as if there was an opium problem in Washington. Then with a smile, Billy would explain OPM was "other peoples' money".
During the same campaign, evidence showed that Billy Long liked to play in some high stakes poker games. Fearing voter revolt from the Bible Belt, Long denied his gambling claiming to be a victim of an internet rumor started by bloggers. Yet, Long's name and location of Springfield, Missouri, kept showing up all over the Internet on the World Poker Tour.
Long denied he had a gambling problem using his family for cover claiming he plays cards with family and friends. Of course, after the primary was over, Long quickly rushed the family to Las Vegas before he began campaigning against Scott Eckersley.
When Billy Long got to Washington, we learned quickly he wasn't going to turn down a trip to Las Vegas when special interest was paying. Roll Call explained how Billy Long used loopholes to get to Las Vegas through his new buddies the lobbyists--you know the people Long was supposed to be fed up with.
While that may be offensive considering Long's lies about his gambling--a sign that Long may truly have a gambling problem--we learned from the News-Leader that Billy Long may be having financial problems as he has been forced to borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars from family members according to his Congressional financial disclosures. Additionally, campaign finance reports show Long is using campaign donations to fund his trips to Las Vegas these days, which means Long may not only be addicted to gambling, he may also be addicted to OPM just like the other politicians he claimed to be fed up with two years ago.
For those making campaign contributions to Billy Long, please note his campaign finance reports show Billy Long has made multiple trips to Las Vegas using his campaign funds and there appears to be no records of official campaign business in Vegas like catering for fund raisers or expenses of campaign staff members.
I guess you could say Billy Long is running another deceitful, unethical campaign--gambling with peoples money who donated it in good faith believing that Billy Long was "fed up".

Congressman Billy Long Champions Freedom After Killing Freedoms
After two years of voting against freedom and liberty, Congressman Billy Long had the nerve enough to state on the Rachel Maddow Show, "Goodness Gracious The land of the free, the home of the brave. We're no longer free in this country. We’re not the land of the free anymore, and we need to get that straight,”
Let's get this straight Congressman Long. You are concerned about freedom when your voting record doesn't support liberty and freedom.
You voted to enslave Americans with another $2.4 trillion in debt.
You voted to give Obama the power to indefinitely detain American citizens without due process.
You voted for regulations like those in the latest transportation bill that regulated roll you own tobacco small businesses out of business.
You voted to give the Department of Homeland Security more power despite DHS having no respect for the Fourth Amendment.
You voted for the Patriot Act twice that basically throws out the Fourth Amendment.
You voted to put limits on free speech by making it illegal to protest on federal property when Obama or other government officials are near.
You are on record supporting various mandates in Obamacare that rob Americans of their freedoms and will soon drive up costs.
So Congressman Long, you may go on a liberal show like Rick, I mean Rachel Maddow, and pretend you are some champion of liberty and freedom, but your voting record speaks volumes that you have become a statist with little concern for the Constitution. Shame on you Congressman Long!
I have gotten it "straight" that we are not a free country anymore and I have gotten it "straight" that you are now part of the problem what is destroying freedom Congressman Long. Goodness Gracious, when are you going to admit you ARE THE PROBLEM Billy Long?

Fact Check: Billy Long is Fed Up With Obama
Billy Long is "fed up" with Obama. So I am I. I refuse to argue with Billy Long on this one.
In Billy Long's rhetoric, Long accuses Obama of losing jobs.
Congressman Billy Long states, "As a small businessman, I understand what President Obama does not.
High taxes and out of control regulation shut down businesses and put people out of work."
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EKI8vUGU8CI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It turns out it's not just Obama who has cost Southwest Missourians their jobs and helped put out of business signs on Southwest Missouri small businesses. Billy Long too is responsible for putting small business out of business and more people in the unemployment line. You may recall the new federal regulation on roll your own tobacco stores in the last transportation Bill Long voted in favor of.
John Cullen Hagerty won't be waving his American flag this Fourth of July. His American Dream just got regulated out of business thanks to an interesting provision in the new transportation bill Congress just passed today to be on the fast track to law going into effect on July 1, 2012.
Hagerty owns the Liberty Smoke Shop, Freedom Smoke Shop, and the Independence Smoke Shop in Branson, Missouri. Think of it as the Build-a-Bear for tobacco enthusiasts. Hagerty's customers buy various tobaccos and papers, void of all the addictive chemicals and preservatives big tobacco places in their cigarettes which have led big tobacco in court defending their products. Then his customers rent a high-speed rolling machine that makes their own custom cigarettes.
Consumers can roll 200 cigarettes for a fraction of what 200 Marlboros would cost, and his customers note the quality of the tobacco is much, much better.
It appears Big Tobacco and the fact roll your own cigarettes don't come with the federal taxes inspired enough members in Congress to sneak a provision in the transportation bill that makes the equipment Haggerty uses in his shop illegal to use under the legal conditions Hagerty has been using his machine. According to Hagerty, roll your own cigarettes is a lot like something I know a lot about, brew your own beer. You can escape paying federal taxes by rolling your own just like you can brewing your own beer and it's legal. This, combined with the fact Big Tobacco's lobbyists are very powerful in Washington, may be the driving reason Hagerty will closing his doors as these machines become illegal on July 1, 2012.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazzette writes about the driving reasons Congress has targeted stores like Hagerty's.
Tobacco purveyors have a love-hate relationship with the high-speed, high-tech "roll-your-own" machines that allow customers to make cigarettes on the cheap. Those who operate them, and profit from them, love the machines. Those who don't say the machines might be illegal and are killing their tobacco businesses.
In the end, the government and the courts will decide whether these machines -- known as RYO filling machines -- represent a massive tax dodge or just a more efficient way to hand-roll cigarettes, something Americans have been doing for centuries.
"These places are manufacturing cigarettes," plain and simple, said Regan Bartley, co-owner of Smoker Friendly, a tobacco chain with stores in West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland. Her stores are in competition with tobacco shops, gas stations, convenience stores and other businesses that buy or lease the machines.
Here's the problem. Technically, Hagerty and other RYO stores have never sold a cigarette they have manufactured. They aren't in the manufacturing business. Like a Build-a-Bear store, users use the equipment to build their own cigarettes. Hagerty rents the roller to his customers.
Of course when you cut out the federal government from the slice of the pie, the federal government is going to find a way to bite back. This is just sad considering our Republic was founded on the ideas of limited government and fair taxation. We know tobacco has become a huge revenue source for the federal government and is taxed unfairly as Congress tries to regulate behavior.
Hagerty and his employees never operate the machines for the customers. They answer questions, but never perform any of the manufacturing steps. Yet the government is trying to call them a manufacture. This would be the same premise of renting a shovel from your local equipment rental store and then taxing the equipment rental store on the size of the hole dug by the person renting the equipment.
The federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau says the roll-your-own machines take advantage of the "personal use" tobacco tax exemption so customers and stores can avoid paying cigarette excises.
Take advantage of the personal use tobacco tax exemption? So with unemployment rising and Obama, Democrats, and Republicans all touting the merits of small businesses in the American economy, we are going to put stores out of business and tax payers who work at these places in the unemployment line all because people have found a legal way not to pay taxes on something they enjoy?
Yes, especially when you look at the breakdown in Congress.
The House voted 373-52 in favor of the bill, which was supported by every voting Democrat, while 52 Republicans opposed it. In the Senate, the tally was 74-19, with 23 Republicans joining every Democrat in voting for the measure. Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) voted present, while Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) missed the vote.
Hagerty's own Congressman, Billy Long of Missouri's 7th District, who claims to be in staunch opposition to federal taxes and a friend to the small businessman voted in favor of the bill according to Congressman Long's Washington office, which I contacted this afternoon.
According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazzette, these machines may have the title "high speed" but on average it takes an hour to roll the equivalent of four cartons. This isn't an efficient process considering how little there is to an actual cigarette, but that's not going to stop Fedzilla from chomping down on the small businessman.
Hagerty is letting his customers know that because of this federal legislation, he is being forced to shut the doors on his three locations which create jobs in the Branson area. He is having five employees who will soon be on unemployment.
The Middletown Journal writes this is a joint effort between Republicans and Democrats to tax these small businesses.
In early March, Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn., introduced House Resolution 4134, a bill amending the definition of a tobacco manufacturer to include “any person who for commercial purposes makes available for consumer use a machine capable of producing tobacco products.”
In addition, the Secure Rural Schools amendment sponsored by Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and added to a U.S. Senate transportation bill would categorize retailers providing roll-your-own machines to customers as mainstream cigarette manufacturers for federal cigarette tax purposes.
Do these Republicans sound like they are small business friendly? Or are the fed by the big tobacco lobby who like the soft drink companies see consumers going to other products to fulfill their needs as these politicians see more revenue they can recklessly spend while threatening the livelihood of honest Americans trying to make a living in a tough economy? Once again, I ask is their really a difference between the two parties. They are fed by big corporations and always looking to feed on Americans by expanding the tax base. I don't see much difference between the two at all.
Hagerty says he can keep his shop open, but to maintain the costs of the federal stamps and the federal license required to produce cigarettes is so far out of reach for a store his size that he can't possibly afford to become a federally licensed manufacturer.
Once again, we see how government regulations kill the American dream. This time it's a Branson businessman who contributed to his country by creating jobs, contributing to the economy, paying federal income taxes, and collecting sales taxes for his community. Because he didn't pay a federal excise tax to his federal masters, Hagerty and so many RYO businesses like his have become victims of the federal leviathan.
In a sad goodbye to his customers, a veteran broke down in tears in Hagerty's store wondering what the hell is going on in the country he fought for that he can't buy a bag of tobacco and rent a machine to roll his own cigarettes. It really is a sad statement about our country, a country founded upon great wealth thanks to tobacco.
In Billy Long's rhetoric, Long accuses Obama of losing jobs.

Tom Stilson Alludes Congressman Billy Long is Stupid
Tom Stilson, who decided to run for Congress before moving out of Mommy and Daddy's house, continues to attack Republican incumbent Congressman Billy Long. Stilson, who is still mooching off his parents, seems a little upset Congressman Long is using his position to mooch off the taxpayers. This battle of moochers is getting heated as Stilson's latest attack of Congressman Long insinuates Billy Long is a stupid man.
Take a look at Stilson's new attack video against Billy Long:
In the video Stilson uses a Billy Long quote where Long talks about the breakers in Florida and compares them to the Potomac River. Stilson's description of the video follows:
In an effort to do his job, Congressman Billy Long spent difficult, strenuous hours on Florida beaches in the middle of winter to evaluate whether or not an oil rig being drilled off the coast of Cuba would be a problem. Fortunately, Billy saved the world from disaster by noting that the Potomac River does not have breakers like they do in Florida. This wise statement is brought to you at tax payer expense....Billy actually asked voters if his trip to Florida was 'good judgement'. Does it really take voters to tell hop around Billy whether or not something he does is economically fiscal?
Source McClatchy News Service via Miami Herald
Obviously Stilson's sarcasm insinuates that Long is way out of he his league, something we aren't going to argue about on this blog. Long's quote not only shows how little he knows about the actual topic of discussion which he was sent down to Florida to provide leadership over, it also shows just how much Long has embraced Washington, DC over the Ozarks. Notice he uses the Potomac over Tablerock or Taneycomo. Like Roy Blunt, Long appears to be making Washington his home.
Here we have Stilson claiming he can save the world, and this kid still hasn't moved out of his mommy and daddy's house. He has never managed a household budget and had to make ends meet because he has mommy and daddy to catch his fall just like Billy Long now has the federal government to catch his. Oh the irony!

Congressman Billy Long PORKing it Up in Washington, DC on the Taxpayer Dime
Congressman Billy Long is a big man--one of the biggest men in Congress. It appears he is loosening his belt for comfort at the expense of taxpayers.
A few weeks ago, I heard one constituent, who reported having dinner with Congressman Long while in Washington, come home outraged about the entire dinner. Normally, it would be a great honor to have dinner with a Congressman, but considering Congressman Long's attitude about the dinner, it was anything but honorable.
Long took the constituents to a swank Washington DC restaurant where dinner costs close to a...
When the check came after dinner, this gentleman offered to pay his own. Billy Long wouldn't have anything to do with that according to the gentleman as he exclaimed, "the people of Southwest Missouri are paying for your dinner tonight."
It doesn't sound to me like Long is very fed up with the confiscation of wealth from Southwest Missouri taxpayers these days. In fact, that is what his Congressional expense reports show.
Long's Washington expenses have risen sharply in his second year in office compared to the first according to the latest article in The Joplin Independent. Doug Joyce writes:
The US Department of Labor estimates that the average family of four spends $8,513 per year on groceries, or about $709 per month.
Let's remember here, many Southwest Missouri families are struggling as the price of groceries have increased while their buying power has decreased. Long's living high off the hog while the many of us worry about making ends meet in this tough economy, and the sad thing is Long may be having financial problems himself but is using taxpayers to continue living his extravagant lifestyle.

Long's Washington expenses have risen sharply in his second year in office compared to the first according to the latest article in The Joplin Independent. Doug Joyce writes:
In order to see how really conservative Billy Long is and to understand how he will spend our tax dollars, we need to look at how he spends his own money, or, rather, the money folks and out of state political action committees have given him to keep him in office. It doesn't matter who has given the money. Folks are certainly entitled to support whomever they choose, and political action committees are entitled to try and influence elected officials. But let’s look at how Billy has spent this money.
He has reported five quarters of spending. He started real slow, sort of getting to learn the ropes from Boehner and the Boys.
- First Quarter 2011 meals, $1,616.47; transportation, $25
- Second Quarter 2011 meals, $4,273.44; transportation, $1,280.54
- Third Quarter 2011 meals, $1,820.24; transportation, $0
- Fourth Quarter 2011 meals, $4,099.25; transportation, $4,751.49
- First Quarter 2012 meals, $7,878.97; transportation, $3,867.26
As we can see by and large he has accelerated his spending. And in the first quarter of 2012 most of this meal money has been spent at the Capitol Hill Club and other fine dining areas in Washington, D.C.
This spending of donated money to be used for re election shows me Billy Long is not in touch with us, his constituents. He is in touch with Washington, D.C. and it has only taken him 1 ½ years to learn to play Washington’s game. He learns fast.
$7,878.97 in meals expensed for the United States taxpayer to pay as Billy's belly grows larger. Let's think about that for a little bit and put it in perspective.

Congressman Long Acts a Lot Like Opie Taylor: Could Learn a Lot From Andy Griffith on American Values
Everyday at noon on KY3, The Andy Griffith Show comes on. Considering the age of this show, Andy's values must still represent the values of Southwest Missouri.
I bring this up because Congressman Billy Long could learn a lot from The Andy Griffith Show, but instead he is probably too busy mingling with the Washington establishment he has embraced to take thirty minutes out of his day to find Andy Griffith on television to remind him of Ozark values.
I bring this up because Andy Griffith understand the rule of law the Constitution create regarding due process and the protection from unreasonable searches without a search warrant. Yet, these are core American values Congressman Long has voted against while in Washington.
Long has voted for the Patriot Act on multiple occasions, which basically means Long is acting like Opie Taylor from the video above. The Patriot Act allows the government to illegally record your phone conversations, spy on your e-mails, and even record which library books you check out.
Then there was Long's support in two votes to give Obama the power to indefinitely detain Americans without due process. Obviously, Sheriff Taylor has something to say about that too. It's not very American Congressman Long.

Is Congressman Billy Long's Personal Finances in Shambles?
Congress is full of businessmen who realized they weren’t really all that good at business and look to Congress as a means to build wealth beyond their wildest expectations. –Mike Church, June 28, 2012
Tom Stilson recently launched an attack ad against Billy Long that suggests Congressman Long may be having personal financial issues. In his attack ad Stilson says Long has borrowed lots of money from his father in personal loans and may be as much as $6 million in personal debts.
This is very interesting because rumors have been going around Southwest Missouri for a number of weeks now suggesting Billy Long may have been in financial crisis when he decided to run for Congress two years ago.
I want to remind you what Billy Long said shortly after announcing he was running for Congress during an interview with the Springfield Business Journal in December 2009.
BL: It's hurt our business like everybody else's. People think auctioneers will do better in bad times, but the truth is, we do better in good times, when there's a lot of demand in the market. ... Right now, there's not much demand, and there's a lot of supply. People will call wanting me to auction their house, and maybe they owe $180,000 and it's only worth $150,000 now.
Word going around Southwest Missouri is if you look in The Daily Events, a newspaper that lists home foreclosures, you may find Missouri's Seventh District Congressman Billy Long may have been having financial problems that may have been influential in his career change and his decision to run for Congress. According to the to someone connected in the Southwest Missouri real estate field, as Long was campaigning for Congress with the auction business suffering as the housing bubble burst that Long may have been facing foreclosure on his Highland Springs mansion on the southeast side of Springfield, an exclusive gated community with a golf course and country club highlighting the community.
This is all very possible when you consider how thin most Americans spread themselves before the housing bubble hit. Republican establishment types before Long was elected to Congress cited how inactive Long was in politics until after the housing bubble hit. They said they never saw him at fund raisers and campaign events working for Republican candidates. It was only after the housing bubble hit that Long began getting involved despite telling the tale on the campaign trail that he thought about running back when Roy Blunt first ran for Congress but didn't want to raise his daughters in Washington, DC.
You have to consider Billy Long in his middle 50s. Here is a man hearing the reports the industry he built his life around may not recover for a decade or more, desperate as home sales went down as the housing market crashed, possibly overextended by living a life based on the economic boom of the previous two decades found himself stretched too thin and ill prepared for life after the housing market crash and decided he would do what so many others have done before--get rich off the backs of taxpayers. Claiming to be "fed up" Billy may have just gone to Washington ready to take advantage of a system where people like the high school history teacher before him become multi-millionaires in the public service sector.
So why does this matter?
Billy Long ran on his send a businessman to Washington ethos to go fix Washington. If Long was hiding that his house wasn't in order to begin with during the campaign then he had no business presenting himself as a solution to Washington's bigger problems.
The question is: does Tom Stilson have a July surprise for Billy Long? Has he invested in the expensive subscription required to open The Daily Events' Web page to look to see if there is truth to Long's Highland Springs mansion being listed for foreclosure. Stilson obviously knows something about Long and it appears he might be ready to play this card as he is setting up the scenario that Billy Long's personal finances may have been in shambles as he looked for security in a government job. This is going to be interesting to watch.
Of course, Congressman Long's rebuttal is simple on this. Long took chances with a lifetime investment in a small business that hit hard times, and what has Stilson done? He still lives at home with mommy and daddy. Like I said, this could be interesting to watch.

Billy Long's Vote Cost Southwest Missourians Their Jobs
John Cullen Hagerty wasn't waving his American flag this Fourth of July. His American Dream just got regulated out of business thanks to an interesting provision in the new transportation bill Congress that went into effect on July 1, 2012.
This, combined with the fact Big Tobacco's lobbyists are very powerful in Washington, may be the driving reason Hagerty will closing his doors as these machines became illegal July 1, 2012.

Congressman Billy Long's Top Priority WAS Defunding Obamacare
Article One Section Eight of the Constitution gives Congress the power of the purse. This was well known by Congressman Billy Long who ran for Congress promising voters he would defund Obamacare.
I can only find one instance where Billy Long and the Republicans attempted to defund Obamacare, and the provision they attempted to defund had nothing to do with the main basis of the legislation. The only instance of defunding Obamacare I can find on the Internet was legislation would repeal $100 million in funding for the construction of school-based health centers. Other than that I cannot find any instance of Billy Long and the Republicans attempting to defund Obamacare other than this school.
So what happened to Billy's big promises? If you remember in a video with Sarah Steelman, Long said his three top priorities were:
1. Defund Obamacare
2. Introduce a national version of the Missouri's Hancock Amendment
3. Term Limits
I can't find any piece of legislation or any evidence other than one vote where Congressman Long has actually attempted to defund Obamacare despite it being his number one priority?
Congressman Long, what happened to your priorities?
Long has obviously failed to live up to his priorities, priorities that attracted that obviously voters embraced in the 2010 election. Yet, when you look at the bills Long has sponsored or co-sponsored, many of them increase the size of government or create new powers for the government like the federal broadband act he co-sponsored with Peter King. You may remember that because Long sponsored the bill no knowing it sold off HAM radio frequencies, the same HAM frequencies that were essential in saving lives in Joplin.
Co-sponsoring legislation to sell off HAM radio frequencies, in a bill you can tie to the Internet kill switch, was more important that drafting legislation to meet your number one priority.
Of course, when you look at Long's two other priorities, well, he appears to have quickly forgotten about those too. A national version of the Hancock Amendment may have also prevented this new tax known as Obamacare had it been in place. Of course, Billy Long's first piece of legislation was introducing a bill to have the federal government acknowledge National Auctioneer Day. Doesn't that really tell you where Billy's priorities are?
And that was followed by backing National Golf Day.
No bill to defund Obamacare though.

Billy Long States Obamacare is Good for the Republican Party
Billy Long is putting politics and political party before the Constitution. This perhaps may be the most pathetic action ever from the man who went to Washington claiming he was "fed up" of politics as usual in Washington.
In a comment to 97.9, Billy Long says the Obamacare ruling will be good for the Republican party.
"You can't believe how many calls we're getting at our office. Everyone is furious about this, so it's going to be a big boon to us, as far as getting more members of the Republican party in the House, picking up the Senate in the Republican column and picking up the White House."
So we have Billy Long celebrating the fact Republicans will benefit from the Obamacare ruling. This is just sick! While the American people lose, Billy Long is counting increases in red seats in the House and Senate. While our Constitution takes a direct hit as Supreme Court Justice gives Congress ultimate power in his decision that Congress can pretty much do whatever it wants as long as Congress calls it a tax, Congressman Long is propping up the Republican party as something virtuous.
I hate to burst Congressman Long's bubble, but for most of my life I have voted for the meaningless promises of the Republican party. Promises to protect life and reverse Roe V. Wade, promises to end the EPA, promises to end the Department of Education, promises to cut the size of government...
Every two years we hear these same promises, and yet no matter how many federal Republicans we elect, these promises become empty only to be made two years later.
Why should we trust Billy Long on this matter anyway. It was Billy Long who said there's lots of things about Obamacare that are good, and he had to be coached in an interview with Sarah Steelman to oppose the mandate?
For Billy Long, Obamacare is good because it means more federal Republicans to conduct more central planning of your life. Your comment is pathetic Billy Long!

A Portrait of Congressman Billy Long
1. Voted to enslave Americans with $2.4 trillion more in deficit spending with his debt ceiling increase vote.
2. Voted to spend billions of your tax dollars to fund one of the most fraudulent lawsuits against the Federal Government known as Pigford. Even Andrew Breitbart saw Long for what he is--a fraud claiming to be a conservative.
3. Voted to put limits on free speech with his vote that violates the First Amendment by putting restrictions on free speech on federal property.
4. Voted twice to give the most dangerous president in American history the power to indefinitely detain any American Obama declares an enemy of the state without due process.
5. Voted for the Fourth Amendment killing Patriot Act twice giving government unconstitutional power.
6. Voted to expand government by giving the Department of Homeland Security more power including selling off HAM radio frequencies for a federal emergency broadband frequency the feds will need when Congressman Peter King's Internet Kill Switch is a reality.
7. Congressman Long's lack of leadership combined with the GOP's inability as usual to cut big government meant the Republicans didn't deliver on their $100 billion in instant spending cuts promised in HR1 last year. Billy Long was too worried making sure the federal government continues to sponsor Dale Earnhardt Jr. at the tune of nearly $30 million a year to taxpayers.
8. With Billy Long and the Republicans in control of the purse, the deficit rose $1.6 trillion in Long's first 15 months in Congress. This is more than the first 97 Congresses combined. Fed up? You betcha we are Billy!
It's time to put a real conservative in Congress to represent Southwest Missouri. Vote for the Constitution, small government, and true conservatism. Vote Mike Moon for Congress!
Billy Long and GOP Double Down on May Spending Producing Large Monthly Deficit
Remember that promise politicians like Billy Long of Southwest Missouri made as Republicans took over the House of Representatives. They promised to get spending under control.
How did they plan on doing this? They wouldn't fund big government programs like Obamacare.
What has happened since? Long and the Republicans voted to raise the debt ceiling, couldn't cut spending on programs like sponsorship of Dale Earnhardt Jr., and grew government themselves.
What are the results?
The U.S. government posted a budget deficit of $125 billion in May, more than twice the level registered in the same month last year.
At this pace, the Republican led House with Boehner at the helm, who is Constitutionally responsible for the checkbook, will create more deficit this year than their shameful $1.296 trillion they created last year.
Way to go Billy and your buds!

Billy Long and Republican House Created More Debt Than First 97 Congresses
Billy Long (MO-7) went to Washington claiming he was fed up with wasteful spending in Washington. He soon became part of the problem voting for the $2.4 trillion debt ceiling increase, a frivolous law suit called Pigford, stickers for Dale Earnhardt Jr's stock car, and more government (in the name of safety of course). CNS News reports some alarming details about Congressman Billy Long and John Boehner's Congress:
Way to go Billy! And don't think you can blame this on anyone else but yourself and fellow Republicans who have proven they love their big government too. After all, if you actually read that pocket Constitution that you claim is rode hard and put up wet you will see Article One Section Eight gives you the power of the purse.
You and Boehner have failed us and it's time for you to go before we hit the point of no turning back, that is if we haven't already hit that mark.
The Republican-controlled House of Representatives, which took office in January 2011, has enacted federal spending bills under which the national debt has increased more in less than one term of Congress than in the first 97 Congresses combined.
In the fifteen months that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives--led by Speaker John Boehner--has effectively enjoyed a constitutional veto over federal spending, the federal government’s debt has increased by about $1.59 trillion.
Article 1, Section 9, Clause 7 of the Constitution says: “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.” A law appropriating money cannot be enacted unless it is approved by the House.
The approximately $1.59 trillion in new debt accumulated since the Republican-controlled House gained a veto over federal spending legislation is more than the total increase in the federal debt between 1789, when the first Congress convened, and October 1984, when the 98th Congress was nearing the end of its second session.
Way to go Billy! And don't think you can blame this on anyone else but yourself and fellow Republicans who have proven they love their big government too. Billy Long's Past Bad Behavior Makes Him Look Silly Attacking Jay Nixon
Billy Long was on Comcast news with Robert Trayhnam attacking Governor Jay Nixon for not responding quick enough to the Branson floods last year. Long says it took Nixon five days to respond, but where was Congressman Long during this time?
While it took Nixon five days to respond, Long didn't tweet, head to Branson to inspect flood damage, or even issue a press release to show concern for Branson flood victims until almost two weeks after the flooding began.
This attack of course was after Long notes there isn't enough time to respond to tornado drills. Long of course mocked systems in place to prepare people to take action as quickly as possible during the event of a possible tornado.
I am not a fan of Governor Jay Nixon, but I get tired of Billy Long's blowhard rants--especially the ones when he declares himself a conservative. Because you will notice later on this this interview, Long is ready to hand out "boatloads of federal dollars" that we simply don't have to people who knowingly built homes in flood plains. Yeah, Billy says he is against bailouts, but obviously not his own bailouts. Obviously, Billy Long is promoting the expansion and quick use of big government FEMA and billions of your tax dollars. Notice Billy Long is promoting a huge increase in government spending in the FEMA Flexibility Act.
What a "fed up" hypocrite!
Billy Long, who claims to be Tea Party, is actually complaining about Jay Nixon for taking the time to analyze the situation and seeing if Missouri can handle the Branson flooding on its own without the federal government's involvement. Billy really has embraced the Washington mentality that big government is the solution to all life's problem.
I wonder what Ronald Reagan would say about that. Probably something like this...
In closing, if it took Jay Nixon five days why did it take Billy nearly two weeks considering Long is a gatekeeper for the federal government?

Billy Long Shouldn't be Addressing Veterans on Memorial Day: In Defense of the Constitution and Those Who Took the Oath
The Missouri Veterans Commission announced today Congressman Billy Long will be the keynote speaker at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield. Long is the only keynote speaker at any of the five state Veterans Cemeteries never to lace up combat boots, and people have already been calling me complaining about Long's speaking engagement. I think people are getting upset over all the wrong reasons. Yes, it is true Billy Long went to college around the time of the Vietnam war and quit college shortly after the draft ended never getting a college degree. That's not the issue you should be concerned about.
The real issue is in the year and a half since Billy Long entered the scene in Washington politics, he has done great harm to the rights the veterans he will honor on Monday laid down their lives to defend. This is the problem I have with putting Billy Long front in center in front of people like myself who joined the military swearing an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States knowing we could be called upon at any moment and asked to lay down our lives. It's a real dishonor that Long's votes don't reflect the dedication and commitment to those people.
Since most of Southwest Missouri doesn't pay attention to Long's votes, as this heavily Republican district believes it's only the Democrats who infringe upon the rights, let's look at a few of Congressman Long's votes that insult our fallen veterans who gave their lives having swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
Early on, there was Billy Long's support for the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act gives the federal government unconstitutional powers to spy on Americans defying the Fourth Amendment's guarantee to a search warrant. At any given time in this country, your government, thanks to the likes of Billy Long and others like him, can have you investigated, listen to your conversations, read your e-mails, and even order libraries to turn over a list of every book you checked out. This is clearly an infringement of your right to privacy.
There was Billy Long's vote for the National Defense Authorization Act, which gives Barack Obama the power to indefinitely detain Americans they declare enemies of the state. This is a clear violation of due process rights guaranteed by the Constitution, and it further defies the Constitution since Article III Section III of the Constitution already defines how the federal government must handle those accused of treason, and indefinite detainment isn't a power it gives the federal government. As if that isn't bad enough, returning war veterans already know the federal and state of Missouri government has targeted them as possible domestic terrorists with the Department of Homeland Security report on domestic terrorists and the MIAC report in Missouri.
Long's votes against the Constitutional rights veterans gave their lives defending doesn't stop there. A few weeks ago Congressman Long voted in favor of HR 347. Read for yourself how this bill begins restricting one of our most basics of rights.
As reported at rt.com, the United States House of Representatives (which carries a strong majority of Republicans) overwhelmingly approved H.R. 347 with a vote of 388-3. Also known as the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011, H.R. 347 outlaws protests whenever government officials are nearby (whether or not this is public knowledge), makes it illegal to trespass on the grounds of the White House, and allows the Federal Government to bring charges against United States citizens who are engaged in activism, political protests, or demonstrations anywhere in the nation.
The new Federal decree allows prosecutors to charge those who intend to disrupt a government function with a federal offense, including any person, or site, protected by the Secret Service. This expands the list to presidential candidates, visiting dignitaries, and even the grounds of a National Special Security Event that is “restricted in conjunction with an event designated as a special event of national significance.”
But take note! With some states, if an individual intends on fighting such charges, they may not be able to utilize their own evidence. For instance in Illinois, videotaping the police can bring it’s own set of criminal charges.
U.S. Rep. Justin Amash (MI-03), one of only three lawmakers who stood against the act, explained his decision through his Facebook page: “The bill expands current law to make it a crime to enter or remain in an area where an official is visiting even if the person does not know it’s illegal to be in that area and has no reason to suspect it’s illegal…Some government officials may need extraordinary protection to ensure their safety. But criminalizing legitimate First Amendment activity — even if that activity is annoying to those government officials — violates our rights…”
So Billy Long has gone to Washington and dishonored those who laid their lives down to defend liberty. He has voted to give the federal government great tyrannical powers, and he doesn't deserve to speak to veterans paying tribute to their fallen friends and family on Monday. Rather, he should be forced to listen to the veterans and their stories of sacrifice for the liberty and freedom Congressman Long continues to vote against.

Billy Long: Spending $115,000 on Congressional Fliers is Easier than Addressing Voters in Town Hall Meetings
Congressman Billy Long promised Southwest Missouri he would be responsible with your tax dollars. The more we see inside how Congressman Long operates his office in Washington, the more we see how careless he really is with your tax dollars.
Now we already know Long has one of the top-ten most expensive staffs out of freshmen representatives in Congress. Now we are learning Billy Long is spending lots of your money on fliers which end up filling up trashcans and landfills around Southwest Missouri. His buddy Vicky Hartzler too is wasting lots of tax dollars as well.
From the Springfield News-Leader:
Out of Missouri legislators, Long is only outspent on franking by Hartzler.
Of course, Billy Long is the same Congressman who doesn't feel the need to keep his constituents informed through quarterly town hall meetings. He continues to avoid town halls, avoiding your tough questions. Because sending out fliers at the cost of $115,000 is much easier than explaining why he voted to raise the debt ceiling by $2.4 trillion over the much cheaper town hall forum.
It appears Billy Long too has become addicted to OPM.

Now we are learning Billy Long is spending lots of your money on fliers which end up filling up trashcans and landfills around Southwest Missouri. His buddy Vicky Hartzler too is wasting lots of tax dollars as well.
From the Springfield News-Leader:
Freshman GOP Rep. Vicky Hartzler came to Congress on a pledge to curb “runaway spending” in Washington. But like other House Republicans who swept into office on a wave of fiscal restraint, Hartzler has embraced at least one federal spending program: congressional franking.
That’s a perk that allows lawmakers to mail out letters and flyers to constituents, at taxpayers’ expense, telling voters about their legislative activities.
The 87 GOP members of the freshmen class collectively sent more than 25.6 million pieces of unsolicited mail at a cost of nearly $9.8 million from April 1 through Dec. 31, 2011, according to a review of records compiled by the chief administrative officer of the House of Representatives.
Of the 435 lawmakers in the House, Hartzler, R-Harrisonville, ranked eighth on the list, spending more than $250,000 in the last nine months of 2011 to send out nearly 647,000 mailings to her constituents.
He took the No. 2 slot within the Missouri delegation, spending about $115,000 in the last nine months of 2011.
Long said that when he arrived in Washington, GOP leaders encouraged freshman to take advantage of the franking privilege. “They said ‘you need to frank, you need to keep your constituents informed and involved so people you know you’re the congressman’.”
Just like everything else, as time goes on Billy Long is adopting more and more of the establishment's way. This $115,000 that usually ends up in most of his constituents trash cans without ever a glance could have been saved had Long's office trusted the practice of electronic documentation. It seems Long has no problem making an ass out of himself tweeting about tornado warnings or Amy Winehouse's death. If he had placed his energy in coming up with an electronic distribution method for his constituents, that could have been $115,000 in savings that won't be added to the national debt.Of course, Billy Long is the same Congressman who doesn't feel the need to keep his constituents informed through quarterly town hall meetings. Billy Long Embraces Big Government and Student Welfare
Billy and the Republicans voted to take money from one unconstitutional fund and give it to another unconstitutional fund. Promising to repeal and REPLACE (replace being a scary word since government has no Constitutional authority to provide healthcare or even regulate it), the Republicans voted to continue low interest student loans by taking money from Obamacare to ensure not only are we going to be victims of the government takeover of healthcare, but the uneducated products of the Department of Education will continue down the path to become professional debtors. It's just more proof the Republicans don't want the federal government out of your child's education like they claim when the come back home at reelection time delivering that old promise to end the Department of Education. Remember how Eric Cantor attacked Tea Party Republican Richard Mourdock with this reality?
Billy Long didn't take the conservative advice of the Club for Growth despite bragging to his district he is "conservative". No, Billy Long voted for big government and your tax dollars to subsidize student loans forgetting we are nearing $16 trillion and debt and he promised to return local control of schools back to the people of Southwest Missouri at an Ozark Chamber of Commerce congressional debate.
Thirty Republicans broke ranks and voted against the House bill after the Club for Growth, an influential conservative advocacy group, came out against it.
Billy wasn't one of them.
"The government should not be in the business of subsidizing student loans," the organization said, adding that the vote would be included in its annual "Congressional Scorecard."
Now I remind you, Billy Long ran on his small business expertise and his love of the free market. His vote shows no expertise and no love of the free market. It only shows once again Billy Long has embraced big government.
The federal student loan disaster turns teenage kids fresh out of high school into professional debtors. It raises the cost of education as schools base their tuition rates on the amount of federal student aid and loans available. This of course, lowers competition since kids are less likely to research schools because it's not immediately coming out of their pockets. If it were, they would take far more time educating themselves on the value of education compared to the money they are forced to fork over to attend. Less competition almost always means less quality. If you don't have to compete because the money comes easy--less emphasis is put into the product.
As usual, we can see how the federal government has created another form of welfare, and Billy Long is all for it. Yes, handing out "boatloads of federal money" to subsidize student loans with your tax dollars is nothing more than welfare. Combine that with federal student grants and it's no different than a welfare check.
So way to go Billy. It's good to see you have no principles once again and didn't take the small government, little r Republican stance again. And where in your rode hard and put up wet pocket Constitution do you have the authority on spending our tax dollars to subsidize student loans? Is that Amendment 25 Billy?
That's what I thought.

Washington is Hollywood for Ugly People
MSNBC put in a cheap shot last night at the White House Correspondents Dinner against the Southwest Missouri Congressman. You can see at about 55 seconds in this video where the reporter says, "Washington is Hollywood for ugly people," as Congressman Billy Long walks towards the camera. That a cheap shot! A cheap shot!
Of course if Billy Long was facing Southwest Missouri voters last night where two challengers met at the Christian County Lincoln Day rather than embracing the belt way establishment that rules Mordor on the Potomac, the camera's eye would have never caught him enjoying time with Barack Obama.

Billy Long Puts Obama Before Christian County, Missouri Lincoln Day Event
Congressman Billy Long was noticeably absent last night from the Christian County Lincoln Day event. I guess he had better things to do that schmooze the county Republicans from one of the district's fastest growing counties.
Rather than face Christian County Republicans and his Republican competitor Mike Moon on a number of not so conservative votes he has cast in the House, from the debt ceiling increase, to the Patriot Act, to the National Defense Authorization Act, to HR347 and its limits on free speech, to recently voting to give Obama more power over the Internet, Long flirted with the Washington establishment to spend an evening with Barack Obama last night. I guess Billy thought that would be safer territory where he would have to explain his record to conservatives--of course that is if there is really conservatives in the Christian County Republican Committee. I have my doubts considering recent behavior and their absence in community issues of importance that will have long term effects on conservatism.
When it comes to priorities, Barack Obama ranks higher for Billy Long than Christian County Republicans. He must automatically assume he has your vote as he laughs it up with this disastrous president.

Billy Long Votes to Give Obama More Power Over the Internet
The Constitution gives the federal government no policing rights. The founding fathers left this up to the states knowing it would limit tyranny from a federal level. Apparently Billy Long didn't understand that as he read his "rode hard and put up wet pocket" Constitution. He has voted to expand federal control over the Internet. There is a reason we dismiss him as "fed up". He is "Big Government Billy".
We shouldn't be surprised. Billy Long's record of turning bloggers he found worrisome to the FBI and having their backgrounds investigated to intimidate them was evidence Billy Long would support something like CISPA. It should be noted too it wasn't just Billy Long. All Tea Party members of Congress, you know those like Billy who said they were going to Mordor on the Potomac to protect the Constitution and then swallowed the Mordor punch, also voted for this intrusive piece of legislation, including Michele Bachmann (who we know is a fake phony fraud).
Now just a couple months ago, Billy Long said he was concerned about protecting the rights of people online. That must have been for good soundbite purposes only because here's what Billy and the Republicans in the House of Respresentin' voted for yesterday according to Techdirt:
Basically this means CISPA can no longer be called a cybersecurity bill at all. The government would be able to search information it collects under CISPA for the purposes of investigating American citizens with complete immunity from all privacy protections as long as they can claim someone committed a “cybersecurity crime”. Basically it says the 4th Amendment does not apply online, at all. Moreover, the government could do whatever it wants with the data as long as it can claim that someone was in danger of bodily harm, or that children were somehow threatened—again, notwithstanding absolutely any other law that would normally limit the government’s power.
So Billy and the Republicans don't stop at killing the 4th Amendment just at the Patriot Act. Nope, they take it to the digital world and provide the federal government with more unconstitutional powers.
Way to go Billy Long! You are the equivalent of a modern red coat bowing down to King George. Don't even try to play the Tea Party game when you come back to the district, even though we know Tera Sukman and her Tea Party Patriot HQ will give you a pass once again for your crimes against the Constitution.

Billy Long on John Boehner and Roy Blunt: Politico's Dave Catanese Warned Us Words Will Come Back to Haunt Billy
The Washington Post reports Congressman Billy Long has thrown John Boehner and Senator Roy Blunt under the bus. Long's office quickly responds to a book that includes Long's comment with another denial. Long's denials are adding up casting doubts over the credibility of the Southwest Missouri Congressman.
Summing up the attitude of many freshmen, Rep. Billy Long (R-Mo.), a former auctioneer, reportedly told lobbyists early last year that party elders such as Boehner and Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), a former House leader, should not be trusted. “John Boehner and Roy Blunt are what’s wrong with Washington,” he said. Bret Funk, Long’s spokesman, said Sunday: “Rep. Long denies this incident ever took place and has nothing but the utmost respect for both Speaker Boehner and Senator Blunt.”
Denial from the smack talking auctioneer has become something quite common following Congressman Long's headlines. Remember Politico reporter Dave Cantanese wrote of Congressman Long on the KY3 Political Notebook, "but throughout his humorous and off-the-cuff repertoire, Long has a tendency to make some statements that could come back to haunt him."
My oh my how Catanese's prediction is on target as I think back to the constant denials that come from Billy Long and his office.
Just a couple months ago, there was Congressman Long's Post Office privatization denial that came with a threat to those who recalled a pledge he signed with the promise to privatize the Post Office.
Of course, documents Long posted to his first campaign Web site don't lie.
Billy Long's No Pork Pledge
Then there was that little matter with Jennifer Case, a waitress who accused Long of telling racist jokes and enjoying the company of strippers at a local restaurant that catered to Springfield's elite after hours.
Long went on the news and denied that ever happening despite other employees coming forward from the restaurant to back Case's story up. When you are a major advertiser like Long has been with his real estate companies, you do have the ability to influence the spin.
Then of course, there was the time Long asked me to have coffee with him at Pizza by Stout in Joplin. There he offered a political bribe--a job in his campaign if I would remove the Long is Wrong blog that was written to prove Long was neither Constitutional nor conservative. Blogger Duane Graham managed to interview a very uncomfortable Billy Long and Matthew Block, who is now running as a Republican for state representative, analyzed Long's body language as Long denied it ever happened.
When it comes to legislation Billy Long has been caught in denial mode many times. Congressman Peter King asked Long to co-sponsor HR617, which sold off HAM radio frequencies to create a federal emergency broadband internet frequency. Long denied any knowledge of this when HAM radio operators challenged Long's name on the bill. Long's excuse according to the Springfield News-Leader is he didn't read the bill and co-sponsored the legislation because King asked him to.
The pattern of denial is definitely there with Long. Long constantly refused to take responsibility for things he has said and done, and the list of denials when compared to his history should make most question Congressman Long's credibility. Did Billy Long throw John Boehner and Roy Blunt under the bus? In the right company, I have no doubt. His denial definitely follows a pattern.

Congressman Billy Long Throws John Boehner and Roy Blunt Under the Bus
I am reminded of an interview Billy Long gave to Jim Lee, the bus driver at Bus Plunge. I was looking up to find out which big government Republican candidates Long donated to just before he declared he was "fed up" with Washington. Just a few months prior, Long gave Roy Blunt a $1000 donation. This is how he justified the contribution to Blunt, who supported TARP, the PATRIOT Act, Cash for Clunkers, and a whole slew of not so conservative votes.
Upon getting elected, Billy Long quickly embraced the Republican establishment. He has bowed down to Boehner and voted the way Boehner has told him to from the debt ceiling increase to the Patriot Act to other issues. In fact, Congressman Long's voting record shows he votes with with Boehner's leadership a large majority of the time.
Isn't it funny that Long is now throwing both Boehner and Blunt under the bus as he hopes to relive the hype of his first "fed up" campaign that got him elected in the first place.
The Washington Post writes:
Summing up the attitude of many freshmen, Rep. Billy Long (R-Mo.), a former auctioneer, reportedly told lobbyists early last year that party elders such as Boehner and Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), a former House leader, should not be trusted. “John Boehner and Roy Blunt are what’s wrong with Washington,” he said.
Does Billy Long just tell people what they want to hear? He's "fed up" when he is in the district, not "fed up" when he gets to Washington.
Isn't it interesting that Billy Long is saying this as he continues to endorse Mitt Romney, whose campaign is heavily influenced by Roy Blunt, who represents the Romney campaign in Congress?
Considering Billy Long's voting record, isn't Billy Long part of the problem considering his association with Blunt and voting along the party line along with Boehner. So who is the real Billy Long?
I close by saying Billy Long is a decepticon who hopes to fool the voters for as long as he can by saying whatever it takes to get elected.
